Cropped

ANYTHING CROPPED. This is the outfit I wore to the London Fashion Weekend event. We finally got around to shoot it out in the backyard on a sunny afternoon. Lately I’m somewhat obsessed with crop tops. Perhaps it’s all the rays of sunlight and the Spring kicking in (most trees start blossoming already, yay!). I just think that cropped tops give an outfit a really nice silhouette, depending on the skirt or pants combined with, of course. And with a pair of heels it’s hard to get it wrong.

Happy New Year 2014!

CLEAN SLATE. Happy New Year everybody! I hope you all had a peaceful Christmas time and have recovered from a fantastic night of New Year’s celebrations. After spending Christmas with family and friends in Germany, I flew to Helsinki a few days ago. My boyfriend and I had a pretty tight schedule for New Year’s Eve: a party with close friends to start off the night, dinner at the restaurant we had our first date at and which has never disappointed us, and a Venetian masquerade theme party followed by dancing into 2014 at a local night club. It was such a fun night and I am thankful that I was able to spend it with such amazing people. I’m sure you all have made a few resolutions for 2014 and so have I. I don’t want to go into that much detail, but I do want to wish you all determination and motivation for the promises you have made and the goals you have set for yourself. Good luck!

Sunday Shopping Spree

HEY BIG SPENDER. Last Sunday Panu and I went on a little shopping spree at Westfield shopping center in London/White City. And boy was it busy. It’s crazy how many people and in particular families use Sundays to go shopping at a mall. I really hope it’s just the frantic pre-Christmas time. Anyhow, for my upcoming trip I was in desperate need for warm jumpers and a proper coat. Needless to say that it didn’t stop there and in my bag went also a pair of heels, sunglasses, a statement necklace, and one of my favourite perfumes, because I ran out a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a coat – every year it’s such a hassle finding one – so I either go back to the stores and make up my mind or I will tragically freeze to death. Wish me luck!

Midsummer in Mustio

MIDSUMMER. That time of the year in Finland when the sun is up all day round, city dwellers pack their stuff and leave for a long weekend at summer cottages in the beautiful Finnish nature with family or friends. Usually that special weekend in the end of June is a combination of plenty of good food and drinks, sauna sessions, dips in a lake, and a roaring bonfire while folk music is playing in the background. Your typical cottage attire could be described as extremely comfortable and under normal circumstances completely unacceptable. However, one is in the wild now, where anything (no matter how hideous) goes. This year I decided to show the Finns that it is possible to remain comfortable yet stylish even in the woods.
