PEAK LEVEL. This is the last post about the trip to Athens. I promise! And it’s gonna be short and sweet. For everyone who isn’t that familiar with the sight: the Athenian Acropolis and its monuments belong to the UNESCO World Heritage and it dates back to the 5th century BC. It was a bit surreal, but so impressive to walk on the ground of this ancient complex, which is a universal symbol of thought and the arts. Thanks to the great weather the view from up there was pretty perfect. I would have loved to stay for sunset, but at 5pm sharp we were harshly interrupted in our “oohhs” and “aahhhs” and were shoved outside by yelling ladies who apparently serve as security guards. And believe me, you didn’t want to mess with them.
AUTUMN COLLECTIONS. When I saw Zara’s autumn lookbook and the H&M Paris Collection I knew that my wardrobe was about to get two new companions: a gorgeous pair of leather over-the-knee boots and a blue checked lingerie style dress. By combining these two items with my go-to beanie and throwing over a coat with a simple cut to add structure, a perfect outfit for a sunny autumn day out was born. May I also draw your attention to these amazing cross earrings I got from Asos last year. How cool are they?
UNDER WESTWAY. And here is the second instalment of The Ramones T-shirt Series. This time my beloved girly tutu dress got out to play, which doesn’t happen as often as it probably would like to. Mixing styles is always a bit of an adventure, but when I thought about possible outfits with the band shirt this girlish dress came to mind immediately. Not only is it a stunning piece of clothing, but it also reminds me of my ballet days and makes me want to swirl around like a little girl (and consequently makes me look like a crazy person). Unfortunately, there is the danger of looking like a little girl as well.
AUTUMN IN BLOOM. With the last summery shafts of sunlight waving their goodbyes and the first leaves turning from green to shades of yellow, red, and brown, it is evident that autumn season has begun. What it also means is that one has to banish beloved summer dresses and shoes to the back of the wardrobe and unearth sweaters, boots, and the like. It’s not as gloomy as it may sound, though. After all, digging deep in the closet can be highly rewarding when you find pieces that you forgot you ever bought. Take for instance this gold sweater: completely forgot I owned it and fell head over heels in love with it again. Combined with a pair of over-the-knee boots and some gold accessories this outfit suddenly makes autumn look a lot better.
