“February is a five-piece band from Russia fronted by Masha Melnikova who moved to London and released their debut EP, ‘Saviour’ in October. It’s produced by Jay Reynolds (Bipolar Sunshine, Paloma Faith, The Strypes) and their tracks have a ’90s vibe that calls to mind bands like The Cardigans and The Sugarcubes. DR/U/G/S was so impressed by ‘Saviour’ that he did immediately offered to do a remix.
Matt Woods is a London-based singer-songwriter from Cornwall with a beautiful, soulful voice whose debut EP ‘Wash Me Clean’, came out last year. He’s since been working with a host of established writers and producers such as Jake Gosling, James Earp, Dan Dare, and Amy Wadge and his second EP, ‘Give Yourself Away’, was released in July, and played on Huw Stephens’ Radio 1 show.
Alt.folk artist Nathan Ball also divides his time between London and Cornwall, and his stirring solo voice landed him support slots with Alt-J and Gabrielle Aplin before he formed a four-piece band whose darker, more electronic and elemental music is inspired by the likes of Daughter, Bon Iver and Foals. Fresh from a summer of festival dates, his debut EP, ‘Echo’, is out on December 1.
And after the live sets DJs Maz (XFM and Communion) and TV Nights spin tunes. Expect Motown, classic British ’60s beats and Northern Soul stompers in the mix.”
